Disability Pride Month: Self-Advocate Speaker Panel

Sunday, July 26 12:15 PM
Great Hall

Disability Pride Month is in July. On July 26th, it is recognized as the National Disability Independence Day as this was the day that the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act was signed into law in 1990. On this day, there will be a presentation and panel presented by multiple speakers who are a part of the Self-Advocates of Indiana (SAI) in Great Hall at 12:15pm. The speakers all have disabilities and will be focused on the greater themes of inclusion and belonging in the community and church. SAI's mission: "Self-Advocates of Indiana believes that all people with disabilities have the right to live, laugh, and have happiness in everything we do. Our mission is to advocate, educate, celebrate, and empower people with disabilities to become more effective decision makers, have more independence, and to promote employment for all."
