St. Luke's prioritizes the safety of our children. We have implemented Safe Sanctuaries practices that include security stickers and volunteer screening. We also have 2-way radios in each room and we regularly perform emergency drills throughout the building. The nursery has at least one staff in each room who is trained in Infant and Pediatric First Aid/CPR. Someone is onhand who is First Aid and CPR certified in each children's area outside of the nursery as well.
St. Luke’s is committed to working with families to ensure individuals of all ability levels feel supported and encouraged to grow in their faith. We have a buddy program for trained volunteers to partner with children who may benefit from extra support on Sunday mornings. We also have a small group for families raising children with special needs. This group meets once per month for meaningful discussions or fun outings. Childcare is always provided. Reach out to Crystal Hensley if you are interested in more information about the small group, receiving support for your child with our buddy program, or volunteering as a buddy! Crystal Hensley can also be contacted to communicate any special requests or accommodations to church programming.
Childcare is offered for many church small groups, classes and other events. Parents desiring childcare should ask the group or event's point of contact about requesting childcare or e-mail Lauren Hacker for more information. Our dedicated Caregivers love nurturing and engaging with children; each is screened, certified in pediatric CPR/First Aid and trained on safety procedures. Our goal is to reflect the light of Christ and ensure each child feels loved and welcomed while in our care.
As one of two United Methodist Sacraments, baptism is a gift from God, given to remind us of the grace of Jesus Christ. Whether we are baptizing a child or an adult, we believe that God’s love for each person began before the foundations of the earth were laid. Through baptism we affirm our role as the family of God in helping one another to know and walk in that love. We ask that parents attend a class prior to their child’s baptism in order to prepare for the commitment they are making, and to connect with other parents with whom they'll share their journey of faith and parenting. Please contact Lauren Hacker with any questions.
