Spiritual Direction

Error

Are you familiar with Spiritual Direction?

Welcome! We're glad you’re here and hope you learn more about spiritual direction from the videos below.

In this three-part video series, five members of St. Luke’s, trained and certified spiritual directors, invite you to notice how the Holy Spirit is working in our faith community and within yourself.

  • Video #1 introduces five spiritual directors and how they became aware of the ministry of spiritual companionship for themselves before they trained and became certified spiritual directors for others.
  • Video #2 covers the range of topics typically discussed in spiritual direction sessions, how long they last and how to discern if a director and directee are a good match with each other.
  • Video #3 covers what spiritual direction is and isn’t while drawing comparisons and contrasts with other congregational care ministries and behavioral/mental health care programs.

We hope these chats raise awareness of the certified individuals within St. Luke's available to anyone interested in deepening their faith walk and being more intentional about their spiritual journey. There are other alternative paths, although not mutually exclusive, for folks interested in receiving support in their quest to find greater intimacy with God.

Please feel free to share the links to any of the videos with others you think would appreciate knowing what spiritual direction is and how it might help them.

A native Hoosier, Regina left Music City, Nashville, Tennessee where she attended Vanderbilt Divinity School and worked as Chaplain for Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital, only to come "back home again" to Indiana. Regina is a trained Spiritual Director from the Shalem Institute of Spiritual Direction and has her doctorate in ministry from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern. She loves food, farming, travel, and taking care of animals. Her two boys are grown, leaving her and her husband Rick time to raise bees, exercise, and frequent their favorite resturants and art studios.
