The teaching pastor intentionally lives out two key Wesleyan understandings: “The church changes the world not by making converts but by making disciples.” “The world is our parish.” This pastor will advance the vision and mission of the church by engaging people near and far and at all stages in their faith journey. Through strategic and intentional preaching and teaching from the pulpit, the classroom, the living room, the internet, and the podcast, this pastor will invite people into living as growing disciples. The ideal candidate will be accomplished, not only as a church leader and theologian, but executing these roles beyond the walls. This pastor will accomplish this by working across ministry areas of worship, adult discipleship, and virtual ministries. The ideal candidate will have or seek experience working across social media platforms and digital communication tools; this role will include forming pastoral relationships to build an online campus community and to implement a holistic digital discipleship strategy that empowers people to grow in living an embodied faith. This ministerial role seeks to be both pastoral and technical as it will help inform our digital/communication presence and outreach strategies.
